We found that HP pushed new firmware 002.2310A to the CF 289 series printers via Wi-Fi since March 21, 2023, resulting in replacement chips being unrecognized by the upgraded printers.

The invovled models are:

W2020A/X Series,
W2030A/X Series,
W2040A/X Series,

1. Since the upgrade affects the CF258, CF259, CF276, W2020, W2030, and W2040 series shipped before February 16, 2023, channel customers can sell the involved products to managed end users and stop selling to unmanaged ones.
2. Currently, we are shipping the invovled products as usual.
3. Customers should inform end-users not to manually upgrade firmware from the official website and disable the HP Automatic Update to minimize the upgrade risk.
